Nā ngā atua ngā rangatira e heke mai nei

Atua Card Deck

In our creation story, Te Orokohanga o te Ao, when Tāne separated Ranginui and Papatūānuku, each atua responded to that change differently.

We get asked a lot "why does my tamaiti do that?" The short answer is: there's a pattern, and we have our ways to explain this.

In our creation story, Te Orokohanga o te Ao, when Tāne separated Ranginui and Papatūānuku, each atua responded to that change differently. Some raged. Some shut down. Some couldn't find words. Those aren't just stories those responses live in all of us through whakapapa. When your tamaiti storms, freezes, or bolts, settles, smiles, they're showing you an atua pattern. And once you can see it, you can work with it.

That's what the Atua Cards are for. Eight cards, one per atua, double-sided. One side shows you the pattern under pressure, what it looks like, what it sounds like, what helps first. Flip it and you get the strengths, because every pattern carries gifts too. They're not labels. They're recognition tools grounded in whakapapa. You go from "what is going on right now" to "ah kia ora Tāwhiri. I can work with that."

You start seeing your tamaiti differently. And the more you use the cards, it is our hope that they feel more natural to use as a response and you stop second-guessing and start trusting what you see. That's the connection we hope inspires understanding and support.
